Packing and Moving!

I'm in the middle of a move. I'm moving from one city to the next one over. I'm only moving about 15 miles away. I think the fact that I'm only moving 16 miles away has allowed me to procrastinate too much while packing.

My three roommates and I have stuff strewn all over the apartment. It is a huge mess in here! In all this chaos some things have fallen onto the floor, Zane's territory. I just caught Zane chewing on a hair clip of one of my roommates. I yelled "Bad Dog!" and he ran away sulking.

Poor guy. I hate for him to be sad, but he has to learn. He should always smile...like this!

Simple Sunday

Today I went to Publix to pick up some groceries. I browsed through the weekly ad and through my coupons. I spent $54.09 and saved $39.07. I'm pretty happy with my first "real" coupon shopping adventure.

I'm watching Extreme Makeover Home Edition. This show makes me cry O_O. Zane is sleeping beside me. 


Tomorrow I am going to try to sign my apartment lease a day early. I will be attending a funeral visitation at the time I was supposed to sign my lease. I will gradually begin moving in over the next couple of days. Would it be too cheesy to bake cookies for my new neighbors? 

The Pioneer Woman At Davis-Kidd

This week I headed to Green Hills with my friend Terri. We went to Davis-Kidd to get our "The Pioneer Woman Cooks" cookbooks signed by the author, Ree Drummond. She has a fantastic blog.

It was great to meet The Pioneer Woman(PW)! Having read her blog for some time many of the people in the signing line felt like they were meeting an old friend. The only problem was we all knew everything about PW and she knew nothing about us!

The Pioneer Woman always talks about a perfume, "Sugar Lemon" by Fresh. Terri and I went to Sephora to give it a smell. It smelled great! PW is totally right!

Terri and I were very excited to be at the book signing!

This picture was taken by Mike, a Belmont student, who stood in line for 4 hours waiting to get a book signed for his mother's Christmas present!

I finally made it up to the signing line where I gave PW some small TN Gifts: Goo Goo Clusters - Supreme and a small bottle of Jack Daniels...for cooking of course.

The Pioneer Woman also brought her sister and her good friend Hyacinth along for a few stops on the book tour! I did not get my picture taken with them, but Terri Did! Left to Right: Hyacinth - PWs friend, Terri, and Betsy - PW's sister.

Blog Numero Uno

I'm Shay. I have a dog named Zane. For the past 3 years Zane and I have shared an apartment with our friend, Lindsay. For the past year Zane, Lindsay and I have lived with our friend Kristy. We all are entering a new season and moving away from one another. Zane and I will be moving to Smyrna to live closer to my work.

I've never lived alone...so this should be an experience! I hope to have friends over and spend time outside daily walking Zane. Having a dog is a great and easy ice breaker! I hope to make some new friends!
